Mount Aloysius College invites applications from highly qualified registered nurses to join our team of educators as a Professional Tutor for Nursing and Allied Health Professions beginning in fall 2019.

Current Opening
The open position is funded through a Perkins Grant and offers a regular, full-time 9-month appointment from August – May.  The Professional Tutor is responsible for providing individual and group tutoring sessions for students requiring assistance with coursework in the Nursing and Allied Health Programs.  Conducts individual and small group tutorial sessions on topics that correlate with classroom studies.  Meets regularly with faculty for assigned courses to coordinate tutoring and communicate student needs and progress. Periodically audits courses in Allied Health disciplines to enhance learning and subject matter expertise where necessary.  Teaches one (1) credit per academic year.  Some evening and weekend hours required.

Valid PA RN license.  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.  Two years of experience as an educator or facilitating educational programs in a hospital, healthcare or academic environment.  Demonstrated ability to teach or explain complex topics within the Nursing and Allied Health disciplines to students or other professionals.  Master’s degree with nurse educator experience preferred.  Experience tutoring in a college environment strongly preferred.
