Mount Aloysius College seeks a highly qualified interpreter to provide interpreting services, mentor students and coordinate internship experiences.  The ASL-English Interpreter will provide the highest quality ASL/English interpreting to facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing faculty, who use ASL, and colleagues or students who do not.  Interpreting services will be provided in the classroom, at community, deaf gatherings sponsored by the College, faculty meetings and other events such as graduation.  

Other responsibilities include mentoring and providing observational feedback to undergraduate interpreting students and coordinating internship opportunities.  Additional administrative duties may be assigned as time permits and expertise allows.
Master’s degree from an accredited College or University in ASL/English Interpreting and 3 years of professional interpreting experience required.  Bachelor's Degree and 5 years professional interpreting experience will be considered. Current RID-recognized, National Interpreter Certification required; and PA Interpreter Registration through ODHH required.  

This is a part-time, temporary position for the spring 2019 semester.  Subsequent appointments are possible but not guaranteed.  Position offers 20 hours per week Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Schedule is flexible and somewhat varied.  Occasional evening and weekend hours required.  Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background check.
